Bilişsel Beceri — Social Impact Report Design
The Client Bilişsel Beceri (Cognitive Skills) is an initiative founded by clinical psychologist Defne Aruoba Akpınar of Mind+More Psychology, supported by the Muzaffer Akpınar Foundation. The programme works with socioeconomically disadvantaged primary school children to strengthen the cognitive, emotional and social skills that underpin learning — helping prevent school dropout before it begins. University psychology students serve as trained volunteers, making the project beneficial to two groups simultaneously.
The Project This publication is the programme's independent social impact report, covering the period 2016–2020. It documents measurable outcomes across children, volunteers and parents — from improvements in planning and selective attention, to gains in self-confidence, communication and sense of civic responsibility.
My Role The brief called for a publication that could translate dense research data — test scores, survey findings, percentage tables — into something warm, readable and visually engaging, in keeping with the human-centred spirit of the project itself.
